| IN-FISHERMAN MAGAZINE has called Rainy Lake an explosive small mouth bass fishery |
Fishing license information is located in the Going North Of The Border Section..
Stokes Bay can provide a week of premium fishing for all species of fish. Those venturing outside of our bay system will find hot fishing areas just 10 minutes from camp. We provide 16ft Lund boats with 15hp Mercury motors with a full tank everyday.
Just a mile from camp is Pipestone and Falls river systems that flow into our local Stokes Bay. This flowage is an officially designated fish sanctuary which provides major spawning and feeding grounds that keep fish active from early May to freeze up.
A twenty minute boat ride from camp will bring you to Hale Bay, Canadian Channel, Pound Net Bay and the Rat River Bay system. These bays and river systems provide Canadian trophy fishing at its best.
MAY - JUNE fish are normally shallow and show all the classic habits of spring and post spawn Canadian Shield Lake trophy fish. The bite can be tremendous during these months but can sometimes be frustrating because the fish are moving on a daily basis as the waters warm and the post spawn feeders continue to look for baitfish.
JULY - AUGUST -- CLASSIC RAINY LAKE FISHING! During these months you know where the fish are and your weather days have entered the pattern of Canadian Summer. Walleyes and Northern Pike ae literally guaranteed to be found feeding on Rainy Lakes famous Reefs and Points, and the Bass are working the weed beds and shoals. This time of year makes for the best vacations, stable weather and some of the most dependable fishing. Depart the camp in the morning with your shorelunch packed and ready to go. The beaches and wilderness area will provide excellent spots to have your mid-day break and stretch the legs before your evening fishing.
